Friday, August 28, 2009 "Healthy Boundaries vs. Control" A Fence? A Gate? or a Wall? Discerning How and When to Set a Boundary
When do I need to set boundaries physically? Mentally? Emotionally? And Spiritually? When I’ve had no boundaries, how do I know when a fence will suffice? Is it ever necessary to set up a wall? Can a boundary be strong – if there is a gate? How can I tell if I’m calling it “setting a boundary” – but I’m actually “being “controlling?” How do I maintain my fences, gates, and walls once I have them established? What is going on when I break through my own fences? What do I do when I set up a fence – and someone walks right through it?
